Town East Christian School was founded in 1969 by Dr. Joe West and the members of Town East Baptist Church. The school ministry started with just a Kindergarten. The second floor of the educational building was completed in 1970. The building was dedicated to the memory of Bro. Jimmy Davis. Grades 1 - 8 were added in 1974, then later the High School. TECS held its first Senior Graduation in 1975.

The first Principal to serve was James Campbell from 1971 - 1977. Tommy Williams was Principal from 1978 until 1979. Darrel Lawrence was Principal from 1980 - 1981.  John McCleary was Principal from 1982 until 1983. Shannon Dyess was Principal from 1984 - 1989. J. D. King was named Principal in 1990, where he currently serves. Bro. Robert Davis too has served since 1990 as teacher, coach and Vice Principal.

The school's first secretary was hired in 1971, Mrs. Betty Sue Roberts. Ginger Bowers served as secretary for 11 1/2 years until 1991. Darlene King served for the next 4 years until 1995. Sharon Brodt served next for 10 years until 2005. In 2005 Darlene King returned where she currently serves as the Administrative Secretary.

In 2004 the Preschool and K-5 grades moved to our new location on Hwy. 87. In 2005 the 1st and 2nd grades also moved to the Hwy. 87 Campus.  In 2007 Mrs. Linda West was named the Directory of these elementary grades. Grades 3 - 12 remain at the Bible St. Campus.

Custodians who have served from past to present are: Emily Wishert, Sue Wiley, Eddy Lou Couch and Bro. Robert Townsend, who served faithfully as custodian for 27 years, then finally retired in 2010. Mrs. Maggie Archambault has graciously served in this capacity since.

There have been two cooks in the history of TECS: Mrs. Ruth Roof was our first. She was made famous for her "Pizza Burgers". Also, Betty Faulkner, with the help of Alice (Ma) Faulkner served for 10 years until 2010.

There have been numerous, too numerous to name, teachers, volunteers and prayer warriors who have sacrificed through the years to make this ministry possible. Undoubtedly their payday lies in the not too distant future. 1 Corinthians 2:9
